Abstract. This article examines the relevance and necessity of using robotic fire extinguishing systems at industrial facilities with increased risks of emergency situations – in the engine rooms of power plants and facilities of the fuel and energy complex. The sufficiency of the existing regulatory framework regarding the requirements for cooling metal building structures in case of fire by carriage shafts and other fire extinguishing means is assessed, and the time of their heating to critical temperatures at which load‑bearing capacity is lost is calculated. The heating time to a critical XXI century: Resumes of the Past and Challenges of the Present plus. 2026. V. 15. №2 (74) 271 Technosphere Safety temperature of a metal building structure is determined using a thermal calculation, which depends on the coefficient of change in the yield strength of the steel corresponding to the critical heating temperature of the stretched elements of the truss. Based on the results obtained, a conclusion is drawn about the behavior of metal building structures in conditions of a developing fire and the adequacy of the requirements of the regulatory framework in the field of fire safety of the
analyzed facilities.
